▽ Domestic textile safety standards

In order to guarantee the safety of textiles for human health in the process of production, circulation and consumption, and at the same time, it is conducive to the promotion of the orderly development of textile trade, China has formulated the “National Technical Specification for Basic Safety of Textile Products” (GB 18401), which is a mandatory national standard of the most basic technical requirements for the safety of textile products in China. It has made clear limitations on the five basic project indicators of textile safety.

The similarities and differences between this index and the current international standards:

① similarities: formaldehyde content indicators, pH value indicators, no odor, prohibited decomposable aromatic amine dyes.

② differences: color fastness indicators, aromatic amine detection limits, the number of varieties of aromatic amines, odor does not contain fragrance.

The similarities and differences between the test methods and the current international methods:

Among the 8 test methods for a total of 9 testing items in 5 monitoring items, 5 test methods for 6 testing items, namely, formaldehyde content, pH value, color fastness to water, color fastness to acid perspiration, color fastness to alkali perspiration and color fastness to dry friction, are adopted from the existing national standards, and they are equivalent to the corresponding ISO standards.

Color fastness to saliva and decomposable aromatic amine dyestuffs are 2 test methods for the two items, all of which adopt the existing national standards. The former is different from the prevailing foreign methods in terms of the principle, technical conditions and evaluation methods of the results, and the results are not comparable; the latter is different from the test method standards published by the European Union in terms of the technical conditions and operation procedures, which will affect the results of the determination. The test method of the odor item is subjective olfactory judgment method, without national standards and ISO standards, which is directly stipulated in this standard.
